Hazardous and Electronic Waste: Marmora & Lake Shutdown
- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
Start date: Aug 17, 2022
End date: Dec 31, 2022
Quinte Waste Solution’s Hazardous and Electronic Waste program is no longer able to operate its Hazardous and Special Products Collection Events this season in Marmora and Lake. Currently, we are awaiting approval from The Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks for the use of a new local location. This shutdown applies to all Marmora and Lake events remaining in 2022.
At this time, we operate Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at our Belleville Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot from 9 am - 4 pm. The Depot is also open on the first Saturday of every month. The Hazardous and Electronic Waste program would like to extend, to all residents, an invitation to all of our future events. Residents residing in our 9 serviced municipalities can attend any of our Hazardous and Special Products Collection Events, regardless of where they may reside. A list of our 9 serviced municipalities is listed below:
Belleville
Centre Hastings
Madoc Township
Marmora and Lake
Picton
Quinte West
Stirling-Rawdon
Tweed
Tyendinaga TW
“I would like to personally extend my apology to all of our Marmora and Lake Residents. Although our organization is upset to have our Marmora and Lake collection events closed (for the remainder of 2022), we are excited and motivated to operate in Marmora and Lake consistently in 2023 and onward”, Ron Rae stated, HEW Operations Coordinator, at Quinte Waste Solutions.”
Quinte Waste Solutions is encouraging all Marmora and Lake residents to attend any of our remaining collections events. With this, it is important to remember that our Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot in Belleville is open to all of our serviced municipalities.
If you have any questions, please call Ron Rae our HEW Operations Coordinator at (613) 394-6266 (ext. 32).
