What is a Community Improvement Plan (CIP)?
A CIP establishes a framework for the Municipality’s support and implementation of a program to encourage the maintenance and rehabilitation of commercial buildings and their facades as well as associated signage in an identified business district.
What are the goals of a CIP?
The Community Improvement Goals are as follows:
To provide incentives for businesses to enhance their building’s presentation to the public;
To improve the storefront signage, designs and paint schemes;
To stimulate community pride;
What are the potential incentives?
Facade Improvement Grant Program (see CIP document for more information)
Intended to encourage facade improvements in the Facade and Signage Improvement Area
Grant: The Municipality matches applicant dollar-to-dollar, up to $3,000.00.
Note that the grant and loan can be used simultaneously.
Signage Improvement Grant Program (see CIP document for more information)
Intended to encourage signage improvements in the Facade and Signage Improvement Area
Grant: The Municipality matches applicant dollar-to-dollar, up to $1,000.00.
Note that the grant and loan can be used simultaneously in a calendar year.
